5. Remove the three screws securing the backplane to the protection cover.

Figure 6-8: Installing the Backplane

6. Install a replacement backplane onto the protection cover and secure with the

screws previously set aside.

7. Place the protection cover in the node and secure it to the fl oor of the node

with the screws previously set aside.

8. Secure the fi xed 3.5" hard drives and their trays over the protection cover as

described on page 5-5.

9. Replace the node cover, return the node to its bay in the chassis, plug the

power cord into the rear of the power supply and power up the node.

Note:

HDD trays shown empty for clarity, most will have HDDs installed.
