Appendix A 

BIOS POST Codes

The AMI BIOS supplies POST (Power On Self Test) and checkpoint codes, which are 

documented online at 

http://www.supermicro.com/support/manuals/

 ("AMI BIOS POST Codes 

User's Guide").

When the BIOS performs the Power On Self Test, it writes checkpoint codes to I/O port 0080h. 

If the computer cannot complete the boot process, a diagnostic card can be attached to the 

computer to read I/O port 0080h (Supermicro p/n AOC-LPC80-20).
