CPU P State Control (Available when Power Technology
is set to Custom)
EIST (P-states)
Select Enable to support EIST (Enhanced Intel SpeedStep Technology), which
will allow the system to automatically adjust processor voltage and core fre-
quency to reduce power consumption and heat dissipation. The options are
Disable and
Enable
.
Turbo Mode (Available when it is supported by the CPU)
Select Enable to support Turbo mode, which will allow the CPU cores to run
faster than what the manufacturer specified to boost CPU performance. The
options are Disable and
Enable
.
P-state Coordination
This item is used to change the P-state (Power-Performance State) coordination
type. P-state is also known as "SpeedStep" for Intel processors. Select HW_ALL
to change the P-state coordination type for hardware components only. Select
SW_ALL to change the P-state coordination type for all software installed in the
system. Select SW_ANY to change the P-state coordination type for a software
program in the system. The options are
HW_All,
SW_ALL, and SW_ANY.
CPU HWPM (Hardware Power Management) State
Control (Available when Power Technology is set to
Custom and when it is supported by the CPU)
This submenu allows the user to configure HWPM (Hardware Power Manage
-
ment) State Control settings.
Enable CPU HWPM
Select Enable to support CPU hardware power management state control to
enhance energy efficiency. The options are Enable and
Disable
.
Enable CPU Autonomous Cstate (C-State)
Select Enable to support CPU Autonomous C-State which will allow the CPU to
convert HALT instructions to MWAIT instructions to enhance CPU performance.
The options are Enable and
Disable
