6.1 Storage Control Cards

Supermicro offers controller cards for some storage options.

Storage Protocols Supported

The storage drive bays can support SATA or SAS.

SATA – The default configuration supports SATA drives.

SAS – An add-on controller card can support up to SAS (or SATA) drives. Additional cables
are required.

6.2 Upgrade Fans

Superior cooling can be provided by an optional upgrade to FAN-0163L4. See

Section 3.7

for installation instructions.
