3.2 Accessing the System
The chassis features a removable two-piece top cover, which allows easy access to the inside.
Removing the Top Cover
1. Begin by removing power from the system as described in Section 3.1.
2. Unscrew the two thumb screws on the end of the chassis.
3. Remove the screws securing the cover to each side of the chassis.
4.
Pull the cover towards the end of the chassis and off. See Figure 3-1.
Caution
: Except for short periods of time, do not operate the server without the cover in place.
The chassis cover must be in place to allow for proper airflow and to prevent overheating.
