SATA Connections (I-SATA0~I-
SATA5 & A-SATA 0/1)
Six Serial ATA (SATA) 3.0 connectors (I-
SATA 0~5, A-SATA 0/1) are located on
the motherboard. I-SATA 3.0 ports are
supported by the Intel Z87 PCH chip,
and A-SATA 0/1, by the ASMedia SATA
Controller. I-SATA ports support RAID
0, 1, 5 and 10. The SATA connections
provide faster data transmission than
legacy Parallel ATA. See the table on
the right for pin definitions.
