5-5 Installing Memory
Note:
Check the Supermicro website for recommended memory modules.
CAUTION
Exercise extreme care when installing or removing DIMM modules
to prevent any possible damage.
Installing DIMMs
1. Insert the desired number of DIMMs into the memory slots, starting with slot
DIMMA1.
2. Push the release tabs outwards on both ends of the DIMM slot to unlock it.
3. Align the key on the DIMM module with the receptive point on the slot.
4. Use two thumbs together to press on both ends of the module straight down
into the slot until the module snaps into place.
5. Press the release tabs to the lock positions to secure the DIMM module into
the slot. See Figure 5-3.

Memory Support
The server features 16 DIMM slots that can support up to 2 TB of Load Reduced
(LRDIMM) ECC registered memory or up to 1 TB of registered ECC (RDIMM)
DDR4-2400/2133/1866/1600 memory. For the latest memory updates, please refer
to our website at http://www.supermicro.com/products/motherboard.
