Warning:

You can only install the CPU to the socket in one direction. Make sure that

the CPU is properly inserted into the socket before closing the load plate. If it doesn't
close properly, do not force it as it may damage your CPU. Instead, open the load
plate again and double-check that the CPU is aligned properly.

8.  Close the load plate. Lock the

lever labeled 'Close 1st', then lock
the lever labeled 'Open 1st'. Use
your thumb to gently push the
load levers down until the lever
locks.

Installing a Passive CPU Heatsink

1.  Do not apply any thermal grease to the heatsink or the CPU die - the required

amount has already been applied.

2.  Place the heatsink on top of the CPU so that the four mounting holes are

aligned with those on the serverboard and the heatsink bracket underneath.

3.  Screw in two diagonal screws (i.e., the #1 and the #2 screws) until just snug

(to prevent possible damage to the CPU, do not over-tighten the screws).

4.  Finish the installation by fully tightening all four screws.
