Chapter 2   Maintenance and Component Installation

2.7 Installing the System Fan

The DS3A-261B includes a rear system fan that provides cooling for the chassis. In the event 
that it becomes necessary to replace the fan, use the following instructions.

Caution:

 This is not a hot-swap fan. Four screws are required to install the system fan.

Installing the System Fan

1. Power down the system and remove the power cord from the rear of the power supply 

as described in Section 2.1 and remove the chassis cover as described in Section 2.2.

2. Place the system fan on top of the fan grill, aligning the mounting holes in the chassis 

with the mounting holes of the system fan.

3. Secure the fan with the four screws provided.

4. Connect the fan cable to the motherboard.

5. Plug the power cord into the rear of the power supply, replace the chassis cover and 

power up the system.
