:
Do not clean the cartridge before the “
fi
lter clogged” signal. If
the cartridge is cleaned too frequently before the signal ap-
pears, the performance of the air
fi
lter is not guaranteed and
consequently the
fi
ltering capacity of the cartridge is reduced.
In addition, dirt will sediment in the internal part of the cartridge
more frequently.
HOW TO CLEAN OR REPLACE THE FILTERING CAR-
TRIDGE
- Open the door on the left-hand side of the engine hood.
- Remove the
fi
lter cover (1 in Fig. 57). Shake the external
element up and down and turn it to the right and to the left
to take it out.
- At this stage do not remove the internal
fi
ltering element,
because dust may enter and damage the engine.
- After cartridge extraction, start cleaning the
fi
lter by delive-
ring dry compressed air below 7 kgf/cm from the inside to
the outside along the folds in order to remove particles of dirt.
Do not beat the cartridge to clean it.
Do not install the cartridge if the folds, seal or seal ring are damaged.
- Replace the outer element after six cleaning cycles or at least once a year. Replace the internal car-
tridge as well.
- Fit the cover back in place (1 in Fig. 57) after installing the
fi
ltering cartridges in their housing.
5.4.2 COOLING
RADIATORS
The oil in the hydraulic system
is cooled by a radiator that
is
fi
tted inside the engine hood (2 in Fig. 57).
Lift the door on the left-hand side of the engine hood to access
the radiator.
The diesel engine system is cooled
by another radiator that
is located in the front part of the engine hood. Grab the handle
(1 in Fig. 56) and open the front hood to access the radiator
for engine water cooling.
Both radiators must be kept clean. Periodically (every 50 hours)
check that the
fi
ns are clean: if they are not, clean them with
a jet of compressed air from the inside to the outside of the
engine compartment.
Grab the handle (1 in Fig. 56) and open the front hood to ac-
cess the radiator for engine water cooling.
