TIPS FOR HANDLING CDS
• Only use CDs bearing the following symbol:
• When handling the CD, do not touch the
reflective recording surface.
• Do not stick any labels to CDs and do not
write on the CD surfaces.
• When handling, please ensure not to bend the
CD.
Storage
• In order to protect then, always store CDs in
their cases.
• Do not place a CD in direct sunlight or expose
it to high temperatures or high humidity.
• Do not store CDs in a dusty location.
Cleaning CDs
• Dirty CDs (e.g. dust or fingerprints) can be
wiped with a soft cloth.
• When cleaning a CD, always wipe from the
inside to the outside edge (Fig. 1). Do not
clean the CD using circular movements (Fig.
2).

• Do not use any aggressive cleaning agents,
steel brushes, abrasive cleaners or any other
hard objects to clean this unit; they might
scratch the surface coating.
• Never use petrol, thinner, cassette cleaning
fluid or anti-static sprays to clean a CD.
• Always close the CD compartment carefully
to ensure that the optical lens of the appliance
does not become dusty.
• Never touch the optical lens.
INSERT AND REPLACE BATTERIES
• Use slight pressure to slide the battery
compartment on the underside of the appliance
in the direction of the arrow and remove the
battery compartment cover.
• Insert 8 Type C (R 14) batteries being careful to
observe the correct polarity of the batteries.
• Subsequently, replace the battery compartment
lid and slide to secure it, until it audibly clicks
into place.
• Close the battery compartment cover and push it
down until it locks audibly.
• If batteries are too weak, the unit will not
function correctly. Replace batteries in a timely
manner.
Battery Information
• Use only the recommended batteries or
batteries of a similar type!
• Do not mix new and old batteries of batteries
of different types!
• When inserting the battery, be sure to check
the correct polarity!
• If the device is not used for a longer time
period, please remove the batteries!
• Remove empty batteries from the device!
• Do not recharge non-rechargeable batteries!
• Charge rechargeable batteries only under
competent adult supervision!
• Never short-circuit connectors!
• Do not throw batteries into open fire!
