Install the AquaFlow filter into the filter compartement* and feed
the cable through the space provided. Your aquarium filter helps
to keep the water healthy, therefore you need to clean it weekly.
Click the cartridge from the filter and rinse it with fresh tap water,
the cartridge contains active filter carbon that absorbs harmful
substances from the water, therefore you need to replace the
cartridge monthly.
* The Home 15 has no filter box, the AquaFlow can be fitted loose
inside the aquarium.
First carefully read the filter manual before usage!
The lighting can be operated manual with the push buttons or by
a timer (not included) On/Off. Manual you can dim the white and
blue light in steps as desired. When switching on, the white light
will start up in 30 seconds.
Operate the light for 12-14 hours per day for optimal plant growth.
After filling the aquarium, and with every water change always
add water conditioner to remove toxic substances and protect
your fish. Add bacterial culture as well to help your biological
filter to start and maintain water quality.
Before putting any fish in the aquarium, allow it to run for at least
two days (a full week is better) and ensure that the temperature is
correct (check the water temperature with an aquarium
thermometer). Make sure that whenever you add fresh water it is
of the correct temperature, big temperature changes will make
your fish sick.
Test the aquarium water and adjust the water parameters as
necessary before buying your fish and plants. You can also ask
your dealer to do this. After placing fish in the aquarium, test the
water every 2 days for 2 weeks and adjust any incorrect water
parameters.
Afterwards test the water quality once a week!
Change 20% of the aquarium water weekly while cleaning the
gravel and walls of the aquarium, make sure the fresh water is of
the same temperature as the water in your aquarium!
Add water preparation and live bacteria with every water change.
