REPLACING THE GEAR UNIT
Take the main head of the carriage, like described in the
paragraph “Splitting the carriage from the main head”
Dismount the top cover.
Remove the bolt (Fig. 8.7 4) and pull the gear (Fig. 8.7 5) off
the drive pulley. Remove the bolts (Fig. 8.7 2 and 3).
Replace the unit.
Mount back the bolt (Fig. 8.7 4) and gear (Fig. 8.7 5). Use
blue thread glue. Place back the bolts (Fig. 8.7 2 and 3),
before tightening them, adjust the play of the sprocket (Fig.
8.7 6) with the chain.
In the left corner inside the electrical box is mounted a ring
gauge (Fig. 8.7 9), special made for this purpose. Replace
the washer (Fig. 8.7 7) on top of the sprocket (Fig. 8.7 6) with
the ring gauge (Fig. 8.7 9).
Push the unit towards the chain; the ring gauge (Fig. 8.7 9)
should touch the chain so that the ring gauge contacts the
hollow of the chain (points А ). Tight the bolts (Fig. 8.7 2 and
8.7 3), replace the ring gauge (Fig. 8.7 9) with the washer
(Fig. 8.7 7). Mount the bolt (Fig. 8.7 8) here also with blue
thread glue.
You can replace only the chain wheel sprocket (Fig. 8.7 6
(Item No L32B-01.03.00.00.05 see table on page 31).
The timely replacement is important in order to avoid chain
break and further repair costs.
Clean and lubricate the gear regularly to keep it in good
function.
TENSIONING AND REPLACING THE BELTS
PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU CHECK THE TENSION OF
THE BELT AFTER THE FIRST 15 HOURS OF OPERATION
To tension or check the tension of the belts. Open the
small bottom cover (Fig. 8.9). Check the two belts tension,
it is recommended to use an OPTIKRIK II device (Fig.
8.11). The Static Belt tension should be proximally 1150
N, A new belt 1450 N.
To change the tension, turn loose the bolt (Fig. 8.8 11) on
top of the puller, LOOSE THE 5 BOLTS in the middle (fig.
8.8 8) loose also on the half moons the bolts (Fig. 8.8 1
and Fig. 8.8 9).
Turn loose the secure nut on both forks (Fig. 8.8 7), begin
to tension with inner nut work similar on both belts (Fig.
8.10).
After matching the right tension secure all previous bolts.
When replacing the belts, take off the SA tool holder and
remove the bottom cover. Un-tension completely. Replace
the belts, put them on the right place in the grooves. Use
(Fig. 8.8) and pull them at last over the tension rollers (Fig.
8.8 4, Fig. 8.8 5). Tension as earlier described.
SQUEALING NOISE If a squeling noise of the belt is
heard, it means the belt is not pendicular with the pulleys.
By tension the belt avoid to loose the botls too much so
the pulleys are staying in an exact vertical position.
