1) 2: I/O setup of S-LINK
It sets up or indicates the I/O assignment of S-LINK system.
Immediately after power supply or reset of the computer, it indicates the setup condition of I/O
setting switch (I/O SET 0 to 3) of ‘4. FUNCTIONAL DESCRIPTION
Mode switch’.
When setting is done by programming, I/Os can be set in units of 16.
bit Assignment
7
S-LINK address 112 to 127 I/O setup (0: Input, 1: Output)
6
S-LINK address 96 to 111 I/O setup (0: Input, 1: Output)
5
S-LINK address 80 to 95 I/O setup (0: Input, 1: Output)
4
S-LINK address 64 to 79 I/O setup (0: Input, 1: Output)
3
S-LINK address 48 to 63 I/O setup (0: Input, 1: Output)
2
S-LINK address 32 to 47 I/O setup (0: Input, 1: Output)
1
S-LINK address 16 to 31 I/O setup (0: Input, 1: Output)

1) 4: Bank change-over request register
(HML
1) 5: Bank change-over response register
It is used for bank change-over of ‘
(HML) 0 to (HML) F: Data area’. First of all, write in the
number (‘00’ to ’03’) into ‘
(HML
1) 4: Bank change-over request register’ from the com-
puter. Then, 1.4 to 21.4 ms later, control board changes over bank of ‘
(HML) 0 to (HML) F:
Data area’, and writes in the changed bank number into ‘
(HML
1) 5: Bank change-over re-
sponse register’.
Notes: 1) In case a number other than ‘00 to 03’ is written into ‘
(HML
1) 4: Bank change-over request register’,
it compulsorily changes over bank to ‘00’. The output data is stored till the new output data is next written.
2) Do not read out / write in ‘
(HML) 0 to (HML) F: Data area’ until ‘
(HML
1) 5: Bank change-over
response register’ has been changed over.
(HML
1) 6
System set
It has the same operation as bit 6: system set button of ‘
(HML
1) 0: Flag’.
When a number other than ‘00’ is written, the S-LINK I/O unit addresses at that time are read.
It automatically returns to ‘00’ after reading.
(HML
1) 7: Frame check
It has the same operation as bit 7: frame check of ‘
(HML
1) 0: Flag’.
In case of sending different outputs to the same address, the former output data will be ignored if
the next output data is written in before the former output data has been transmitted to the S-LINK
output unit. ‘Confirmation of communication frame completion’ is used to confirm whether the output
data has been transmitted to the S-LINK output unit.
When writing in numbers other than ‘00’ after writing in output data, it automatically returns to ‘00’
after the output data is transmitted to the S-LINK output unit. So, transmission error of output data
will be prevented if you write in the next output data after its returning to ‘00’ is confirmed by the
program.

1) 8: Number of S-LINK I/O units where Error 4 has occurred
It indicates the number of S-LINK I/O units where Error 4 has occurred.
Error 4 can be released (‘0’) by switching on again either the S-LINK system side power supply
(
㧗
24V DC) or the Compact PCI bus power supply (computer power supply) after fault rectification.
(HML
1) 9: Number of connected S-LINK I/O units
It indicates the number of connected S-LINK I/O units.
(HML
1) A: System address length
It indicates S-LINK system address length set by the system address length setting switches (SA0
and SA1) of ‘4. FUNCTIONAL DESCRIPTION
Mode switch’. One of the numerical values 32,
64, 96 or 128 is indicated.
