Write-Protect/Write-Enable a Cartridge
To write-protect or write-enable a cartridge, move the write-protect switch
(see
FIGURE 3-1
) to the desired setting. The symbols indicate the following status:
Locked –(lock image shown closed) Write-protected. The tape drive can only read
data from the data cartridge. Write operation attempts will fail.
Unlocked –(lock image shown open) Write-enabled (unprotected). The tape drive can
read an/or write data to/from the data cartridge.
