To execute the self-test program for a device, type the
test
command followed by
the device alias or device pathname. If a device has no self-test program, the following
is displayed:
No selftest method for
device name.

test-all
The
test-all
command tests all devices in the system that have a self-test
program. Disks, tapes, and CDROMs are not tested by
test-all
. Tests are executed
in the device tree (the device tree may be viewed with the
show-devs
command).
To execute the
test-all
program, type the
test-all
command.
