OPERATING YOUR APPLIANCE

Temperature Control

Your appliance has only one control for regu-
ating the temperature in the fresh food and
freezer compartments. The temperature con-
trol, or thermostat, is located on the upper
right hand side of the fresh food section.

The range of the temperature control is from

1

 (the warmest) to

7

 (the coldest).  The first

time you turn the unit on, set the control to its maximum setting, which is

7

.

After 24 to 48 hours, adjust the temperature control to the setting that best
suits your needs.  A setting of

or

 5

should be appropriate for home or office use.

To turn the appliance off, turn the temperature control to

0

NOTES:

Turning the temperature control to the

0

 position stops the cooling

cycle but does not shut off the power to the appliance.

If the unit is unplugged, has lost power, or is turned off, you must wait
3 to 5 minutes before restarting the unit.  If you attempt to restart
before this time delay, the unit will not start.

Interior Light

When you open the door to the refrigerator compartment, the light will be ON
automatically.  When you close the door, the light goes OFF automatically.

Defrosting Your Appliance

When?

For the most efficient operation and minimum energy consumption,

defrost the freezer compartment when the frost on the freezer walls is excessive,
or 1/4" thick.  There is no need to defrost the refrigerator compartment, because
ice depositing on the inner back wall is defrosted automatically.  Ice deposits on
the inner back wall during compressor operation; later on, when the compressor
is not operating, ice defrosts.  Water droplets collect and drain through an outlet
in the inner back wall into the drain pan situated above the compressor, where
the water evaporates.

How?

1.  Reset the thermostat to the OFF position,

0

, and disconnect the power

supply.

2.  Remove the frozen food from the appliance and place it in a cooler to

protect the food.
