Warning
A vehicle engine must never be started in a closed garage, or any other sealed
structure. Carbon monoxide is produced during operation and is deadly in a
closed environment. Early signs of carbon monoxide poisoning resemble the
flu, with headaches, dizziness, or nausea. If you have any of these signs get
fresh air immediately.
The warnings, cautions, and instructions discussed in this instruction manual
cannot cover all possible conditions and situations that may occur. It must be
understood by the operator that common sense and caution are factors which
cannot be built into this product, but must be supplied by the operator.
Unpacking
When unpacking, check to make sure that all the parts are included. Refer to the
Parts Photo and the Parts List at the end of this manual. If any parts are missing
or broken, please call Harbor Freight Tools at the number on the cover of this
manual.
Operation
Warning: Disconnect power before working on or near circuits.
1.
Use the Crimping Tool (10) to cut and strip wire, and to crimp-tight Connectors
(18-31).
2.
Use the Car Voltage Tester (14) by clipping its cable clip to the chassis, and
touch the other end to the test point. If voltage is present, the handle will light
up.
3.
Disconnect the car’s battery following the manufacturer’s directions. Use the
assembled Battery Terminal Brush (13) to clean off post-type battery terminals.
Pull apart to expose a Brush to clean the inside of the cable connectors. Use
care when working near a battery: batteries contain acid which can cause
severe burns. Always wash hands thoroughly after working near a battery.
4.
Remove and replace fuses using the Plastic Fuse Puller (5).
Maintenance
1.
When finished using the Auto and Home Kit, replace all tools and store in a
clean and dry location.
2.
Periodically check the kit supplies and replace as needed.
