5. Care and maintenance
The machines and devices are to be protected against moisture, frost and prolonged exposure to direct
sunlight.
The machine‘s motor and gear mechanism are maintenance-free; the only action required is the regu-
lar removal of dirt deposits underneath the protective housing in order to ensure adequate cooling of the
motor.
Only clean the machine and auxiliary equipment by using a dry or slightly moistened cloth with some mild
detergent. Wet cleaning is to be avoided as it can result in the loss of electrical safety.
If the suction power decreases, clean the filter cartridge in the vacuum. Knock the dust from the filter or
empty the dust bag if necessary.
Maintenance procedures in terms of of machine / equipment inspection and repair (including replacement
of the connecting cable and changing the carbon brushes on the suction motor) are only permitted by
STORCH and authorised STORCH service stations. (Free STORCH technical hotline: 0800 – 7867147)
The PVC cable H05VV-F according to DIN 57281 / VDE 0281 that we have prescribed must be used for
extension cables or when replacing connecting cables. The plugs must be rubber or PVC and the output
direction of the cable must correspond with the direction of the plug pins. When replacing connecting
cables the safety precautions referred to in section 4 must be observed.
