SECTION 1 | GENERAL INFORMATION & OPERATING PROCEDURES

COMPONENT

DESCRIPTION

Lift Lock Valves

Two lock valves prevent the lift from lowering.
They are normally closed, two-way, two-
position, solenoid operated poppet valves.

When closed, the lock valves allow free flow

into, but not out of, the lift cylinders. When

the valves open, hydraulic fluid flows out of

the lift cylinders and the van body lowers.
A manual override on each valve permits
manual lowering when used with the manual
override on the directional control valve.

Flow Control Valve

A flow control valve is located in the line

between the directional control valve and the

lift cylinders. The flow control allows free flow

of hydraulic oil into the lift cylinders. Reverse

flow out of the cylinders must go through a
section of the valve that restricts flow. The

valve is manually adjustable and controls the
descent rate of the lift.

1.1.10 | Power Lift Gate Electro-Hydraulic

System

The rear lift gate has its own hydraulic system, separate from the hydraulic
system on the truck. It is completely self-contained. This system’s only uses
are to raise and lower the lift gate.
