:

Pull the carrying ring apart and 
take it off the drive tube.

Install in the reverse sequence.

Take out the screw (2).

Bend open the clamp (1) and lift it 
away.

Push home the drive tube until 
the holes (arrows) line up.

– Tighten down the fixing screw 

and clamp screw firmly,

The drive shaft assembly consists 
of an externally splined shaft 
supported in ball bearings in the 
rigid part of the telescopic drive tube 
and an internally splined shaft 
supported in a flexible liner and ball 
bearing in the moving part.

Owing to the close tolerances, 
always replace the internally and 
external splined shafts as a 
matching pair.

Disassembling

Inner (upper) drive tube

Loosen the clamp screws 
(arrows) and take the gearbox off 
the drive tube.

Loosen the star nut (1).

Pull out the inner drive tube (2).

:

Loosen the screws (3) on the 
clamp (4).

Pull the clamp (4) off the outer
