3.5 Hinging Rails

and brakes locked.
3.5.1 Repositioning the
Rail
The VIC Rail has two positions, up and down, both positions lock the rail into
place. To put the rail down, while supporting the rail (Figure 3-18), squeeze the
two red tabs under the seat (Figure 3-19). Allow the rail to hinge all the way
down until it locks into place (Figure 3-20). To raise the rail, squeeze the two
red tabs under the seat (Figure 3-19). Lift the rail all the way up until it locks into
place.
Transport mode is when green arrow by the seat lock knob is aligned with green
arrow on the base and seat is locked.
Non-transport mode is when chair seat has been locked 90° counterclockwise
from transport mode. Non-transport mode is to be used only for performing
clinical procedures.
