Set-up
• Unpack all of the parts carefully. Check the packaging for small parts which may
have become detached during transport.
• Be careful to comply with the first, important charging procedure as described.
To start this charging procedure, you must, depending on the model:
– remove the battery protector (red or transparent/orange plastic stripes)
between the holding device and battery pole
– connect the plugs inside the lights (e.g. Ascona model)
– set all of the push/pressure switches to the OFF position.
• Never put pressure on the solar panel at any time, including during set-up
and assembly.
• Set the switch to ON or AUTO after the full charging period of at least 2 days of full
sunshine. When darkness falls the lights will turn on with the help of a sensor
automatically. This may also happen if the light is poor or the sky is very cloudy.
Performance
• During the daytime the solar cells convert the sunlight into electricity and recharge
the batteries. The number of light hours is therefore determined by the number of
charging hours and the intensity of the sunshine.
• The number of operating hours per day depends on the geographical position, the
season, the temperature ratios, weather conditions and set-up location.
• Solar lights capture a limited amount of sunlight during the winter months.
A reduction in the duration of lighting is therefore inevitable.
• If the previous day is rainy and cloudy, the duration of lighting may also be reduced
in summer months.
