3. ERECTING YOUR AWNING
Most poles are broken during pitching or dismantling. Make sure enough
people are available to erect the awning without exerting undue stress on
the poles.
3.1
Ensure that the ground is free of stones and other sharp objects.
You may wish to lay a sheet of polythene on the ground to protect your
awning. Unpack and spread the awning on the ground.
3.2
Thread the beading, on the back of the awning, through the rail
on the caravan to the desired position. This would normally be centrally
over the caravan door.
3.3
Assemble the fibreglass poles, the 260 has three, the 390 has four.
It is essential that each pole section is fully inserted into the adjoining
metal ferrule. Failure to do so could result in premature pole damage.
3.4
One at a time, push the end of the
fibreglass pole (with cap) into each of the pole
sleeves as far as they will go. Secure the other end
on the ring and pin below each sleeve which is
fitted to the adjustable grey strap.
