Ex nR Control Panel 9851
Replacement or retrofitting of further internals in the Ex nR or Ex ec housing section
The Ex nR control unit is designed by R. STAHL and is delivered completely ready for use
including the built-in components such as WiFi access points. The heating behavior is
tested by R. STAHL with regard to explosion protection and the temperature range of the
internals.
The user is only permitted to replace identical devices installed in the Ex nR or Ex ec
enclosure. After the replacement the test of tightness acc. to IEC / EN 60079-15 needs to
be accomplished.
The installation of devices which do not correspond to the original project planning requires
a renewed check of the project planning by R. STAHL and may only be carried out after
consultation with R. STAHL.
Ex nR housing part

Modifications or changes to the Ex nR enclosure part are not permitted.
Ex ec housing part / terminal compartment

If additional through-holes are required, e.g. for fastening cable glands, breather or
other components to be installed in the enclosure, the instructions in the series
7145 Operating Instructions must be observed.
DANGER! Explosion due to faulty sealing of the Ex ec connection
compartment!

Non-observance will result in fatal or severe injuries.

Only drill additional holes exactly according to the instructions in chapter
"Installation" (Operating Instructions 7145).

In case of deviations or uncertainties, consult R. STAHL beforehand.

Only fit housings with operating equipment (e.g. cable entries,
plugs, drainage or air-conditioning connections) that are suitable for use in
hazardous locations.

Seal unused cable glands with certified plugs (red).

Seal all open holes with suitable equipment.

Ambient installation conditions

When exposed to the weather, the explosion-protected device can be equipped with a
protective roof or wall.

Before using the device under difficult conditions, such as on ships or in strong sunlight,
additional measures must be taken to ensure correct installation depending on the
location. Further information and instructions on this are available on request from your
responsible sales contact.

The enclosures must not be installed in environments subject to high temperature
dynamics. The fluctuations should comply with the dynamics of a usual day-night
change.

Before use in areas with persistent high humidity and high temperature
fluctuations as prevailing in tropical or subtropical climates - contact R. STAHL.
6 Mounting and Installation
6.1 Assembly / disassembly

Install the device carefully and only in compliance with the safety instructions (see
chapter "Safety").

Read the following installation conditions and installation instructions carefully and
follow them exactly.
