Switching repeater
Series 9170/.1
8.2
Indications
LEDs on the device indicate the operating condition of the device and the line fault states
(also refer to the "Device design" chapter).
*) Activation of line fault detection for channel 1 or 2 using the DIP switch "LF1" or "LF2"

Troubleshooting
If the error cannot be eliminated using the specified procedures:
Contact R. STAHL Schaltgeräte GmbH.
For rapid processing, have the following information ready:
• Type and serial number of the device
• Purchase information
• Error description
• Intended use (in particular, input and output wiring)

Error
Cause of error
Troubleshooting
"PWR" LED is off
• Auxiliary power failure
• Defective device fuse
• Polarity reversal of the
auxiliary power source
• Monitor the polarity of the
auxiliary power supply.
• Monitor the wiring of the
auxiliary power supply.
• If the fuse is defective,
have the device repaired.
Line fault "LF" LED
is lit permanently
• Incorrect connection of the
switching element.
• Switching element does not
function according to
NAMUR.
• Ensure correct wiring of the
switching element.
• Connect the de-energised
contacts to additional
resistors according to
the chapter "Project
Engineering".
Still no change of the
switching state at the
output in spite of
lighting up of the
yellow "OUT" LED
Swapping the pluggable terminals Insert the pluggable terminals into
the device connection intended for
this purpose.
High switching
frequencies are not
transmitted
The version of the switching
repeater with an electronic output
has been optimised for use with
active I/O cards.
If passive inputs are used,
the potential for the generation of
High Level is missing.
The High Level is generated by
means of an external circuitry with
a resistor for the supply voltage
(e.g. +5 V).
