8.3 Flags
Flags are often inserted to mark noteworthy surface features, such as poles, sidewalks,
changes in terrain etc. These markers may help you correlate subsurface targets with above
ground features.
Pressing the
asterisk
button on the keypad will insert a flag at your current position, either
during forward data acquisition or when backed-up. Flags are sequentially numbered (Figure 8-
5).

8.4 Line Scan menu options
All the settings described below change the way the data is viewed on the screen.
This can be
useful for optimizing the appearance of different features.
Clear
Pressing this button will clear the data on the screen.
Zoom
This button controls the horizontal and vertical scaling of the displayed GPR data. Pressing the
Zoom
button changes the buttons on the bottom menu as follows:
Depth
– Pressing
+
and
-
under the
Depth
button allows you to change the display
depth of the data. This is commonly referred to as the depth window. The pre-set values
range from 1m
to 8m (3’ to 25’), see Figure 8-6.
