Any appreciable rise in the secondary pressure
from its set value will cause the diaphragm and
the push rod (12) to lift. This will allow air to
escape through the centre of the push rod to
atmosphere. When excess pressure has vented,
the orifice in the push rod will reseat on the main
valve.
Ensure that the bowl is regularly drained by
means of the quick action drain valve (16).
Warning
Polycarbonate bowls are attacked by phos-
phate ester fluids, solvents, paint thinners and
carbon tetrachloride. These and similar sub-
stances should never be allowed to come into
contact with the bowl. Certain compressor lu-
bricating oils also contain additives harmful to
polycarbonate and where there is any doubt we
recommend, in the interest of safety that a bowl
guard be fitted.

How to order
Example — 1 Element Set for ¼" Spirax-
Monnier Filter/Regulator Type MP2.
To Service Filter
Shut off air. Remove bowl guard if fitted. Re-
lease pressure by opening manual drain or
gently unscrewing the bowl until pressure re-
lieves.
Remove bowl and unscrew element retaining
nut and withdraw filter assembly.
Clean bowl using soap and water only. Reas-
semble with new element and gasket. Do not
overtighten bowl.
