Set the machine as shown.
Turn the switch width dial and stitch length dial to suit the fabric.

Crescent stitch (1)

For a delicate edge finish along the edge of fabric.

Bridging (2)

For seams, place mats, tablecloths.
Decorative  joining  seam  for  a  fagotted  effect.  Gathering  with  cord  or 

shirring elastic.

Rampart (3)

For flat joining seams, sewing on elastic, visible hems.
This stitch can be used for firm, thicker fabrics.

Shell hem (4)

For decorative edges.
Suitable  for  edges  on  sheer,  fine  and  stretch  fabrics.  The  larger  stitch 

should go just over the edge of the fabric to create the shell effect.
