Spectra 10K Library Release Notes
Updates to Appendix A: Library Specifications
Library Specifications
Library Data Storage Capacity
Data capacity depends on the number of media slots available
in the library and the type of media used. The relationship between media slots, tape
drives and data capacity is outlined in the following table.
Power Requirements
Sony AIT Tape Drive Specifications
This section includes details on Sony AIT drives. For more information, consult the
user manual for the drives installed in your library.

The upper limit applies to the drives, not the library. Be sure that there is adequate air flow around the library at all times.

Sustained transfer rate
b, c
b.
This is a per-drive value. Total sustained transfer rate for the library depends on the number of drives installed in the library.
c.
The sustained transfer rate per drive can increase by an average of 2.6 times the specified value with compression.
Compression thoughput and capacity depends on the type of data.
6 MB/sec native
Burst transfer rate
d
d.
The actual burst data transfer rate is limited by the performance of the SCSI host bus adapter, the SCSI bus interface
controller, and the drive’s buffer control hardware.
40 MB/sec synchronous maximum
