• If safe operation is no longer possible, take the device out of service and secure
it against unintended use. Safe operation is no longer possible, if the product:
- shows visible damage,
- no longer functions properly,
- has been stored under adverse ambient conditions for an extended period of
time or
- has been exposed to considerable strain during transport.
• Also observe the safety and operating instructions of any other devices that are
connected to this product.
• If you have doubts about how the product should be operated or how to safely
connect it, consult a qualified technician.
• Maintenance, adjustment and repair work should only be carried out by an expert
or a specialised workshop.
• If you have any questions that are not answered in these operating instructions,
please contact our technical customer service or other professionals.
b) Plug-in power adapters
• The design of the two power adapters complies with Protection Class II. Plug the
power adapters only in to a proper power outlet of the public power grid.
• The mains socket into which the wall plug transformers are plugged must be easily
accessible.
• Only use the power adapters provided to power the product.
• Never plug in, or remove, the power adapter with wet hands.
• For safety reasons, always disconnect the power supply units from the mains
socket during thunderstorms.
• Never unplug a power adapter from the mains socket by pulling on the cable. Hold
it on the sides of the casing and pull it out of the mains socket.
• If a power adapter is damaged, do not touch it; there is danger to life from electric
shock!
First, switch off the mains voltage to the socket to which the wall plug transformer
is connected (switch off at the corresponding circuit breaker or, for example, re-
move the safety fuse or switch off at the corresponding RCD protective switch, so
that the socket is fully disconnected).
You can then unplug the power adapter from the mains socket. Dispose of the
faulty power adapter in an environmentally friendly way, do not use it any more.
Replace it with a power adapter of the same design.
• Never pour liquids over electrical devices and never place objects filled with liquid
on top of or next to them. Should liquid penetrate the device nonetheless, cut off
the power supply to the relevant mains socket (e.g. switch off the circuit breaker,
take out the fuse, then disconnect the residual current circuit breaker) and then
unplug the power adapter from the mains socket. Do not use the product after that
and take it to a specialist workshop.
c) Installation
• Transmitter and receiver units can be mounted on a suitable surface using the
mounting brackets included. Pay attention when drilling and tightening the screws
that no cable or pipes are damaged.
• Inadvertently drilling through electric cables causes the life-threatening danger of
an electric shock!
• Look after your own safety when using electric tools (e.g., a drill).
d) Operation
• The product is only intended for use in dry indoor locations. No part of the product
should become damp or wet; never handle it if your hands are wet! With the wall
plug transformers there is also the deadly peril of an electric shock!
• Choose a stable, flat, level and sufficiently large surface for the installation.
• Do not place objects on the product; never cover the product.
• Never use the product immediately after moving it from a cold room into a warm
one. The condensation that forms may damage the product under certain circum-
stances. With the wall plug transformers there is also the deadly peril of an electric
shock!
Allow the product to reach room temperature before connecting it to the power
supply and putting it into use. In some cases, this may take several hours.
• When setting up the product, make sure that the cables are neither kinked nor
pinched.
