DVI-HDMI converter with audio
Item no. 98 91 64
• Connect the wall plug transformer to a mains socket. The blue power LED on the converter
lights up.
• Start up the equipment e.g. the computer to which you have connected the converter.
When there is a DVI signal on the converter, this will be produced at the HDMI out port, as will
the stereo audio signal that is fed to the two cinch sockets.
Ensure that in addition to the stereo-audio signal there is
always
a DVI video signal
being fed into the converter. It is not possible to use the analogue converter’s audio
input on its own.
Handling
• Use only in dry indoor locations. The product must not get damp or wet! There is a risk of a
life-threatening electric shock!
• Never use the product immediately after it has been taken from a cold room to a warm one.
The condensation that forms might damage your unit. The wall plug transformer also poses a
risk for a potentially fatal electric shock!
Allow the product to reach room temperature, before connecting it to the power supply and
putting it into use. This may take several hours.
• Avoid the following adverse conditions at the installation location and during transportation:
- Damp or excess air humidity
- Cold or heat, direct sunlight
- Dust or
fl
ammable gases, fumes or solvents
- Strong vibrations, impacts or blows,
- Strong magnetic
fi
elds such as those found close to machinery or loudspeakers
• Any maintenance or repair work may only be carried out by authorised personnel.
• When setting up the product, make sure that the cables are neither kinked nor pinched.
Cleaning
Prior to cleaning the device, pull the wall plug transformer out of the mains outlet.
Use a clean, dry, soft cloth for cleaning. Do not use aggressive cleaning agents as these can
cause discolouration. Do not press too strongly on the surface when cleaning, to prevent scratch
marks.
Dust can easily be removed using a clean, long-haired brush and a vacuum cleaner.
Disposal
Electrical and electronic products do not belong in the household waste!
Dispose of the unserviceable product according to the relevant statutory regulations!

the warranty will be null and void.
• The unauthorised conversion and/or modi
fi
cation of the product is not permitted for safety and
approval reasons (CE). Never dismantle the product.
• The product is not a toy. Keep devices that operate on the mains voltage out of the reach of
children. Therefore, be especially careful when children are around.
Use the product where it is out of the reach of children.
• The product is only intended for use in dry, indoor locations. No part of the product should be
allowed to become damp or wet; never take hold of it if your hands are wet!
Wall plug transformers have the potential to cause a fatal electric shock!
• The design of the wall plug transformer complies with Protection Class II. Use only a standard
mains socket as the power source for the wall plug transformer.
• Only use the wall plug transformer supplied to power the audio converter.
• Do not pull the wall plug transformer from the mains socket by pulling on the cable. Hold it on
the sides of the casing and pull it out of the mains socket.
• If the wall plug transformer is damaged, do not touch it; there is danger to life from electric
shock!
First, switch off the mains voltage to the socket to which the wall plug transformer is con-
nected (switch off at the corresponding circuit breaker or, for example, remove the safety fuse
or switch off at the corresponding RCD protective switch, so that the socket is fully discon-
nected).
You can then unplug the wall plug transformer from the mains socket. Dispose of the faulty
wall plug transformer in an environmentally friendly way, do not use it any longer. Replace it
by a wall plug transformer of the same design.
• Do not leave packaging material carelessly lying around, since it could become a dangerous
plaything for children.
• Handle the product with care, it can be damaged by impacts, blows, or accidental falls, even
from a low height.
Connection and Getting Started
• Connect the two Cinch input jacks on the converter to the audio output socket of e.g. a com-
puter using an appropriate cable.
Red cinch = right stereo signal
White cinch = left stereo signal
• Now connect the DVI input on the converter to the DVI outport on e.g. a computer graphics
card.
• Connect the low voltage plug from the enclosed wall plug transformer to the corresponding
socket on the audio converter.
