Gas Connection.
1. Verify that the gas type is correct for the fireplace by
looking at the rating plate that is attached to the right side
of the fireplace, adjacent to the control battery pack.
Note: The fireplace is shipped from the factory equipped
to burn the fuel listed on the rating plate. Fuel conversion
in the field is not allowed.
2. The gas connection should now be made from the gas
supply line to the inlet on the fireplace. Use only a quali-
fied gas installer to make the connection.
3. The fireplace is shipped from the factory with a
3/8”
tube
OD (male) connection.
4. The gas supply piping should have a separate gas shut-off
valve and a
1/8”
NPT plugged tapping upstream of the
valve. We recommend installing a shut-off valve be-
tween the gas supply line where it penetrates the wall /
fireplace mounting plate and the inlet to the regulator on
the fireplace. This will allow gas to be shut-off to the fireplace by simply removing the fireplace sur-
round to gain access to the shut-off valve.
5. The fireplace and its main burner valve must be disconnected from the gas supply piping system during
any pressure testing of that system at test pressures in excess of 1/2 psi (3.5kPa).
6. The fireplace must be isolated from the gas supply piping system by closing the gas shut-off valve dur-
ing any pressure testing of the gas supply system at test pressures equal to or less than 1/2 psi (3.5kPa).
After the gas supply has been connected, use a commercial gas leak detector or apply a soapy water so-
lution to all the fittings to check for gas leaks. Never use a flame to test for leaks
