4.4 RESECTION
The “Resection” function, also known as Free
Station, is used to determine the instrument
position from measurements to a minimum of
two known points.
Note:
a)
If the angle between the first measurement
point and the second one is too small or too
large, it will influent the geometrical accuracy
of calculation result. So selecting a geometrical
graphic with good structure is important.
b) The calculation requires at least three angle
data or two distance data.
c) Basically, the station height is calculated by
the distance data. If the distance data was not
carried out, the height will be determined by
the angle of known point.

accuracy assessments are provided.
