Mount the shoe adaptor on the
camcorder.
Mount the shoe adaptor on the
accessory shoe of the camcorder, and
lock it with the lock lever.

Connect this unit to the camcorder
with the PHU connection cable.
Insert the card of the PHU connection
cable into one of the card slots on the
camcorder.
Connect the connector of the PHU
connection cable to the USB connector
on this unit.

Power the unit on
After turning on the camcorder, power the
unit on by pressing the power switch and
holding it for at least three seconds.
The POWER indicator flashes and
initialization starts. The POWER indicator
lights in green when initialization finishes
and the unit is ready to record. The
camcorder recognizes this unit as a hard
disk inserted into one of its card slots. When
the camcorder recognizes this unit, it
displays the amount of recordable time in
its LCD monitor (camera mode), just as it
does for SxS memory cards.
Press the SLOT SELECT button of the
camcorder to select the card slot where this
unit is connected.
Start recording
Recording to this unit starts when you press
the REC button on the camcorder.
For information on shooting methods, refer to the
operating instructions of the camcorder.
Note
This unit supports the Quick Motion
shooting mode of the XDCAM EX
camcorder, but it does not support Slow
Motion shooting. Depending on the
environment where it is used, the unit may
allow Slow Motion shooting, but normal
recording is not guaranteed.
