To connect a floppy disk drive

You do not need to shut down your computer before connecting or disconnecting a floppy disk drive.

Before disconnecting the floppy disk drive, see

To disconnect a floppy disk drive when the computer is on

information.

Before connecting this drive, close any active applications to help prevent data loss.
