Hooking up the optional components
Connecting a DVD player
Do This
When your DVD player has
5.1CH analog outputs:
Press DVD5.1CH so the
indicator of the button
lights up.
When your DVD player has
stereo analog outputs:
Press DVD5.1CH
repeatedly so the indicator
of the button goes off. At
this moment, the DVD (for
2channel) function is
selected.
To the center
output of your
DVD player
To the woofer
output of your
DVD player
To the video output
of your DVD player
To the front outputs
of your DVD player
To the rear
outputs of your
DVD player

Note
Using a turntable at high volume may cause distortion
or howling. This is often caused by the bass sound
from the speakers. The bass sound may produce the
distortion or howling. To avoid this, do the following:
1 Keep some distance between the speakers and the
turntable.
2 Stop using the surround effect.
3 Place the speakers and the turntable on a firm and
stable surface.
4 Press SUPER WOOFER repeatedly until the
indicator on this button goes off.

• Be sure to match the color of the plugs and the
connectors.
• Each time you press DVD 5.1CH, the function
changes as follows:
DVD 5.1CH

• You cannot enjoy the 5.1 channel surround sound if
you connect a DVD player which does not have the
5.1 channel analog outputs.
