To improve tuner reception
When tuner reception is poor, set the disc player
power off by the DVD power manage function.
The DVD power is factory set to on.

Press FU/– repeatedly to switch
the function to DVD.

Press ?/1 to turn off the system.

Press ?/1 on the unit while holding x on the
unit.
“DVD POWER” and “OFF” appear.
To set the DVD power on
Repeat the procedure above, and “DVD
POWER” and “ON” appear.
Notes
• When “DVD POWER” and “OFF” are selected,
DVD access time is increased.
• You cannot change the setting in Power Saving
Mode (page 43).
To change the AM tuning interval
(Except for Saudi Arabian model)
The AM tuning interval is factory-preset to
9 kHz (or 10 kHz for some areas). To change the
AM tuning interval, tune into any AM station
first, then turn off the power by pressing
?/1 on
the unit. While holding , press ?/1
on the unit. When you change the interval, all
AM preset stations are erased. To reset the
interval, repeat the above procedure.
Note
You cannot change the AM tuning interval in Power
Saving Mode (page 43).
Tips
• The preset stations are retained for about half a day
even if you disconnect the power cord or if a power
failure occurs.
• To improve the reception, adjust the supplied
antennas or connect an external antenna.
You can listen to a radio station either by
selecting a preset station, or by manually tuning
in the station.
Listening to a preset station
— Preset Tuning
Preset radio stations in the tuner’s memory first
(see “Presetting radio stations” on page 32).

unit) repeatedly to select “FM” or
“AM”.

Press TUNING MODE repeatedly until
“PRESET” appears in the display.

the desired preset station.
Listening to non-preset radio
station
— Manual Tuning

Press FU/– repeatedly (or
TUNER/BAND on the unit) to switch the
function to TUNER.

Press BAND (or TUNER/BAND on the
unit) repeatedly to select “FM” or
“AM”.

Press TUNING MODE repeatedly until
“AUTO” and “PRESET” disappear from
the display.

Press /– repeatedly to tune in
the desired station.
Notes
• The OSD does not appear on the TV screen except
when using the DVD function.
• When switching to the DVD function from tuner, it
may take longer to access the disc. In this case, set
“DVD POWER” and “ON” using the DVD power
manage function (page 33).
