7.3.4

Replacing the Trackball

1. Remove the four screws that hold the top cover on the new Trackball using a #1 

Phillips screwdriver. Discard the cover and screws. Be careful not to tip the 
Trackball and spill the Trackball parts (Figure 7.12).

2. Holding the Trackball, carefully turn the Control Panel Subassembly over onto 

the new Trackball and set it in place.

3. Carefully turn the Control Panel Subassembly over, holding the Trackball in 

place.

4. Tighten the four screws securing the Trackball using a #1 Phillips screwdriver 

(Figure 7.13). Torque the screws to 3.6 in./lb. (0.4 newton meter).

5. Place the foam backing on the Trackball (Figure 7.14).
