Insert the batteries in the charger.The device can charge two or four cells of the same size together. Important: the
proper way to use the charger is to charge exactly 2 batteries of the same size and type (AAA or AA) together in either
side. After checking the batteries' polarity, plug in the charger.
The red LED indicator labeled FRONT or BACK shows that the starting process has started, depending on where you
inserted the two batteries.
Be careful not to exceed the charging time, as over-charging can damage batteries.
New batteries reach their maximum capacity after three charging/discharging cycles. This is also true for batteries that have not been
used for a longer period of time.
Calculating the recommended charging time
You can use the following formula to calculate the charging time depending on your batteries' type and parameters:
Charging time [hours] = (capacity [mAh] x 1.4) / charging current [mA]
For a pair of type AA batteries with 2200 mAh capacity, the charging time will be 25 hours.

Warnings
-
Alkaline batteries cannot be recharged; do not attempt to charge them using the
device.
- Be careful to charge for the right length of time, as over-charging as well as under-
charging can damage batteries.
- Batteries can be recharged at least 1000 times provided you follow the charging
instructions. Rechargeable batteries are therefore not only economical but also very
environment-friendly because you can avoid buying and throwing away a large
number of alkaline batteries.
- The charger is for indoor use only in a dry environment.
- If charging is interrupted (e.g. because of a power outage), always resume the
process by discharging the batteries.
- You must always insert pairs of batteries of the same type.
- Before recharging always make sure that the batteries are intact, the contact points
are not corroded and there is no leakage of liquids.
- When the batteries are recharged, unplug the charger and remove the batteries.
