USAGE
The amplified subwoofer can be connected with every car radio, and with its powerful bass sound it complements the vehicles original sound system. Its high signal level access is universally usable in all
cases. Its low level access can be used to achieve a better sound quality, if the car radio has a low level audio outlet.
SETUP, CONNECTION
There are two ways of connecting the audio signal. Choose between them based on if your car has a low level (RCA) outlet or does not. If yes, choose that to achieve a better sound quality. With a separately
obtainable RCA cable connect the car
LINE OUT
(2xRCA) outlet to the sound cabinets
INPUT L/R
(2xRCA) access.
If the car radio does not have a RCA outlet, then the high level speaker outlet needs to be connected with the subwoofer. This solution can be used with every car radio. Connect the car radios speaker cable to the
sound cabinet high signal level access (
SPKR IN L+/-, R+/-
). The subwoofer should be connected parallel to the already connected speakers. Use the included short connection cable with the plug end.
Three screws are responsible for fixing the 12V DC power supply:
+12V
: positive /
REM
: remote controlled on and off /
GND
: negative polarity. The +12V connected to the
REM
connector turns the amplifier on. If
the car radio has a +12V switch voltage outlet, then the subwoofer turns on automatically with the car radio, and turns off when the radio is turned off. If the radio has no such thing, then the +12V needs to be
connected to the
REM
connector for it to be operational. This can be operated even with a built in switch on the control panel.
Every connecting must be done while the system is not under electricity! Make sure the connection is done according to the given polarity. Follow the wiring diagram of the signal source (car radio, signal booster) on
every occasion. The recommended cable diameter is at least 2 x 0,75mm2. Before first putting the system under electricity check that the connections are done correctly. The connections should be stable and
without short circuit, and the volume control (
VOLUME
) should be in tis minimum position. Turning on is done with the securing of the supply voltage. Then start carefully increasing the volume. It is advised to
connect the supply voltage through the fuse panel of the vehicle in such a way so when the ignition key is removed the subwoofer does not get any more voltage. If you provide the supply voltage directly from the
secondary battery, it is advised to build an on/off switch (not included) into the control panel.
SYMBOLS
MAXIMUM VOLUME
Every speaker must be eased into working before proper usage. In the first 30-50 operation hours it should only run at 50% capacity! In certain cases there can be distorted, or lower quality sound. This can be
caused the inbound signals not appropriate quality, or it being not high enough. The systems maximum volume is that which can still be hear without distortions. By further increasing the volume the outgoing output
will not increase, but the systems distortion will grow! This is harmful for the speakers, and can lead to their malfunction!
CLEANING
Use a soft, dry cloth and brush for regular cleaning. With a slightly moist cloth clean the plastic parts of the device. Do not use aggressive cleaners! DO not let liquids come into contact with the inside of the device, or
its connectors!
WARNINGS
•
Installing car-hifi devices requires important technical knowledge, and experience, which we do not have the means to detail in this manual. If necessary contact a specialist, so you do not damage the device, or
the vehicle! Proper installation is a requirement for reliable operation.
•
Place it safely – and if necessary fix – the device in the trunk of the car! Check so moving objects (e.g.: luggage) does not come into contact with the subwoofer! The subwoofer can be easily damaged, do not touch
the subwoofers cone, or rubber edge with hand or tools!
•
Improper installation, or usage can lead to the termination of the warranty.
•
Make sure the connections are correct! Improper connection can lead to malfunction. The poles of the speaker cannot touch each other, or the grounding of the car (its negative potential)!
•
Immediately shut down the device, if you notice any error, and contact a specialist! Many irregularities (no sound, bad odor, smoke, foreign object in the device) can be noticed easily.
•
Protect from dust, humidity, liquids, heat, frost, and shock, and from direct heat or sunshine!
•
Protect it from splashing water, and do not place objects filled with liquids e.g.: cups on top of it!
•
Open flame sources, like a burning candle, cannot be placed on be device!
•
Do not take it apart, or modify the device, because it can cause fire, accident or electric shock!
•
Do not do cable connecting when the device is operational Never shut down the system when the volume is fully turned up! The usually heard cracking or other sound waves can immediately ruin the speaker.
•
In order to protect the audio system from external noises, keep the audio cables separately from power- or other cables!
•
The speakers contain magnets, so do not place items near them which are susceptible to them (e.g.: credit card, cassette tape, compass…).
•
Because of continuous development technical data and design can change without prior notice.
•
We do not take responsibility for any printing errors, and are sorry of any occurs.
TROUBLESHOOTING
Upon noticing any error turn off the device! Later try turning it back on. If the problem persists, look through the following notes. This guide can help in identifying the problem, if the device is connected correctly
beside it. If necessary contact a specialist!
The Sound cabinet has no sound
•
The amplifier does not get supply voltage.
- Check the amplifiers supply voltage, if it has supply voltage, and its right polarity.
•
The access is not properly connected to the cars sound system.
- Check the connection cable for the possibility of tears, short circuit, and if it is correctly connected.
The volume or sound quality is not appropriate
•
The audio level connected to the access is either too high or too low.
- Check the connection cables connection, the quality of the signal source, and the strength of the signal.
- If necessary increase or decrease the inbound signal level.
To prevent possible hearing damage, do not listen at high volume levels for long periods.
