to max. until the background noise just disappears. When the station Starts to
tran sm it again, you will hear this station, but you will not hear the background
noise during non tran sm ittin g periods,
OPERATION
1.
Switch the transceiver “ON’,’ select the desired channel, adjust the volume and
squelch Controls and receive.
2.
To tran sm it, simply push the tran sm it button on the microphone and talk in a
normal voice, whiie holding the microphone 5 -1 0 cm in front of your mouth.'
3. In transmitting, set the mic. gain control to the most désirable modulation level.
CLOCK CONTROLS
1.
The front knob of double knob on the ieft side of the clock has the following
positions :
ON Transceiver switched ON.
OFF Transceiver sw itch ed OFF.
AUTO Transceiver will be switched ON at the tim e indicated on the Ieft window
of the clock.
AUTO ALARM Same function as AUTO. This position will
also
switch
on
a
buzzer.
2.
The back knob SLEEP will switch the transceiver o ff a fte r 30 minutes if the
front knob is in the OFF position and the back knob turned fully clockwise.
3.
The knob on the right side of the clock sets the tim e of the alarm as indicated
in the Ie ft window and if pushed and turned sets the tim e of the clock.
Important: When right window ( “second” ) is between 50 second and 60 second,
You can not set the clock.
ANTENNAS
To get the best performance from your TS -5030P transceiver we recomend that
you use a Groundplane antenna for basestation to m obile/portabie and a Rotarybeam
or
ubicalquad antenna for longdistance basestation to basestation communication.
A Groundplane antenna has a round radiation pattern which is as ideal
for working
stations in several directions during the same
tim e, where
a
Rotarybeam
or
a
Cubicalquad antenna has a concentrated radiation beam in one direction only and
shoutd be instailed on a antenna rotor.
Due to the concentrated radiation in one direction a typical 3 élément Rotarybeam
antenna has a power gain of apprx. 8db or 8 tim es
in
reference
to
a
halfw ave
dipole antenna and a forw ard/backw ard rejection of 25db. îf the SWR is less than 1
to 1.5.
This means that ail power fed
into the antenna is radiated only in that direction
by 8db or by 8 tim es. Where as on the other hand
during
réception, the
beam
antenna will also increase the power of the incoming signal by 8 tim es and at the
same tim e will reject the power of signais from the backside by 25 tim es. These
values are about lOdb and 28 db for a Cubicalquad antenna.
Your antenna should be instailed as high as possible to hâve
the
biggest
possible
communication range and the cable should be as short as possible to prevent line
losses.
