Grinder does not
start after pressing
START/ CANCEL
button
– Grinder not plugged in.
– Grinder is overheated.
– Bean container not
attached correctly.
– The GRIND TIME dial is
set to 0 seconds.
– Plug power cord into
power outlet.
– Remove power plug from
power outlet. Leave for 20
minutes to cool down be-
fore using again.
– Lock bean container into
position using the locking
button.
– Turn the GRIND TIME dial
to a higher time.
Motor starts but
no ground coffee
coming from grind
outlet
– No coffee beans in
bean container.
– Grinder/bean container
is blocked.
– Fill bean container with
fresh coffee beans.
– Remove bean container.
Inspect bean container
& grind heads for block-
age. Replace parts and try
again.
The grind size
controller can not
be moved.
– The grind size controller
is stuck.
– Coffee beans are stuck
in the grinder.
– The bean container is
not properly mounted.
– Spin the bean container so
that the controller can be
moved again.
– Start the coffee grinder with
the START/CANCEL button
and simultaneously spin the
bean container.
– Unlock the bean container
and re-install it as described
on page 63.
Unable to lock
bean container
into position
– Coffee beans obstruct-
ing bean container
locking device.
– Remove bean container.
Clear coffee beans from
top of burrs. Re-install and
re-lock bean container into
position and try again.

powder.
– Powder amount not
correctly set.
– Turn the GRIND TIME dial
to individually correct the
amount of powder. Shorter
time means less, longer
time means more.
Portafilter overfills
– It is normal for the cor-
rect amount of coffee to
appear overfilled in your
portafilter.
Untamped coffee is three
times the volume of
tamped coffee.
Emergency stop?
– Press START/CANCEL but-
ton to stop operation.
– Unplug power cord from
power outlet.
