1. Start
All fans produced by
SODECA Heavy Duty
, hereinafter
the manufacturer
, and the full line of
accessories, have been manufactured in accordance with the strictest standards in relation to
quality assurance, systems and production processes.
Their project, testing, manufacture and control structure has been configured in line with EU
standards and regulations, especially in reference to current safety standards.
The materials used in our fans, and the standardised components of which they are made meet the
same standards and, when so required, are backed up by the corresponding quality certificates.
The manufacturer declines all responsibility for damage caused during transportation, delivery,
installation, start-up or damage arising from any of the foregoing, and for damages or
consequences resulting from any inappropriate or negligent action.

2. Product Definition
This fan is designed to produce an air, gas or vapour flow through an increase in pressure, with a
variable capacity depending on the model.
The fans mentioned in this manual are of the following types:

Cased high-pressure axial extractor.
•
Hot galvanised cased fan

•
Large diameter long cased axial fan with external motor
.
•
Forked long cased axial fan.
•
Robust cased axial fans for fitting between ducts, for marine and naval applications.
•
Axial fan designed for applications with high temperature and humidity.
3. General Information
•
Always check the products received.
•
After unpacking the equipment, it must be checked to make sure that it is not damaged.
Damaged products must never be installed.
•
This equipment must not be used for purposes other than those for which it was designed;
it must only operate under the conditions described in this manual.
•
In the event of a defect or malfunction, this must be reported to the authorised
representative, with a description of the problem, in order to coordinate its return or
possible repair.
•
Before starting up the equipment make sure you have read the safety and installation
instructions set out in this document and the
“General Specifications for ATEX
Fans”
attached to the product documentation.
(ATEX Models).
4. Transportation, storage and handling
•
Always hold the equipment at the points provided for this (lifting eyebolts). Do not lift it by
the electrical cables, connection boxes, or the air inlet or outlet.
•
Before lifting and moving the fan, check that the method used has the adequate load
capacity.
•
The fan must be stored inside a warehouse, in dry environments with no vibrations or
dust.
•
In the event of prolonged storage (more than 3 months) without the protective packaging,
protect the suction and discharge nozzles against the entry of dirt, foreign objects or
animals, ensure that all elements are properly greased and check the state of the
equipment before installing it.
5. Safety
•
Do not disassemble or modify the equipment. This could negatively affect the equipment
or even cause accidents.
•
Do not put your fingers or any objects into the protective grilles on ducts, inlets or outlets.
If this were to occur, immediately disconnect the equipment's power supply.
•
Never use a damaged power cable.
