If chemicals are present in the drain, it is important to
understand the specific safety measures required to
work around those chemicals. Contact the chemical
manufacturer for required information.
24. If needed, place protective covers in the work area.
The drain cleaning process can be messy.
25. Do not crush, drop or damage battery pack. Do not
use a battery pack or charger that has been dropped
to explosion. Properly dispose of a dropped or damaged
battery immediately.
26. Batteries can explode in the presence of a source
of ignition, such as a pilot light.
To reduce the risk of
serious personal injury, never use any cordless product
in the presence of open flame. Any exploded battery can
propel debris and chemicals. If exposed, flush with water
immediately.
27.
Do not charge battery tool in a damp or wet location.
Do not use, store, or charge battery packs or products in
locations where the temperature is less than 50ºF (10ºC)
or more than 100ºF (37.7ºC). Do not store outside or in
vehicles.
28.
Under extreme usage or temperature conditio
ns,
battery leakage may occur. If liquid comes in contact
with your skin, wash immediately with soap and water.
If liquids gets into your eyes, flush them with clean
water for at least 10 minutes, then seek immediate
medical attention. Following this rule will reduce the risk
of serious personal injury.
29. Remove the battery from the cordless drain auger
when it is not in use, before servicing it, when
changing accessories, and when performing any other
maintenance task.
30.
Use the right appliance
. Do not use the cordless drain
auger for any applications other than those for which it
was intended.
31.
Check for damaged parts
. Before further use of the
cordless drain auger, all parts should be carefully checked
to determine that it will operate properly and perform its
intended function. Check for alignment of moving parts,
binding of moving parts, breakage of parts, mounting, and
any other condition that may affect its operation. A guard
or other part that is damaged should be properly repaired
or replaced. Contact the Snow Joe

Electrical Safety
• Electrical plugs must match the outlet
– Never modify
the plug in any way. Do not use any adapter plugs with
grounded appliances. Unmodified plugs and matching
outlets will reduce the risk of electric shock.
• Avoid accidental starting
– Make sure the switch is in the
OFF position before inserting the battery pack into the unit.
Do not carry the drain auger with the safety switch and
switch lever engaged.
• Power tool plugs must match the outlet
– Never modify
the plug in any way. Do not use any adapter plugs with
earthed (grounded) power tools. Unmodified plugs and
matching outlets will reduce risk of electric shock.
• Avoid body contact with earthed or grounded surfaces,
such as pipes, radiators, ranges and refrigerators
.
There is an increased risk of electric shock if your body is
earthed or grounded.
•
Do not expose power tools to rain or wet conditions.
Water entering a power tool will increase the risk of electric
shock.
• Do not abuse the cord. Never use the cord for carrying,
pulling or unplugging the power tool.
Keep cord away
from heat, oil, sharp edges or moving parts. Damaged or
entangled cords increase the risk of electric shock.
• When operating a power tool outdoors, use an
extension cord suitable for outdoor use. Use of a cord
suitable for outdoor use reduces the risk of electric shock.
• If operating a power tool in a damp location is
unavoidable, use a residual current device (RCD)
protected supply. Use of an RCD reduces the risk of
electric shock.

Safety Instructions
NOTE: This unit is a core tool. The battery and the charger
are not included. They must be purchased separately.
Model 24V-DRNCLN-CT is compatible with the iON+ 24V
System batteries and chargers. See page 17 for more
information.
We pay a great deal of attention to the design of every battery
pack to ensure that we supply you with batteries that are safe,
durable and have a high energy density. The battery cells have
a wide range of safety devices. Each individual cell is initially
formatted and its electrical characteristic curves are recorded.
This data is then used exclusively to be able to assemble the
best possible battery packs.
Despite all the safety precautions, caution must always be
exercised when handling batteries. The following points must
be obeyed at all times to ensure safe use. Safe use can only
be guaranteed if undamaged cells are used. Incorrect handling
of the battery pack can cause cell damage.
IMPORTANT!
Analyses confirm that incorrect use and poor
care of high-performance batteries are the main factors
responsible for personal and/or product damage.
m
WARNING!
Use only approved replacement batteries;
other batteries may damage the power tool and cause it to
malfunction, which can lead to serious personal injury.
m
CAUTION!
To reduce the risk of injury, charge the
iON+ 24V lithium-ion battery pack only in their compatible
iON+ 24V charger.
Other types of chargers present risk of fire,
personal injury and damage. Do not wire a battery pack to a
power supply plug or car cigarette lighter. Such misuse will
permanently disable or damage the battery pack.
