Electrical Safety

1.  Always check that the power supply corresponds to the 

voltage on the rating plate.

2.  Do not operate in an area where there is a possibility 

of bodily contact with grounded items (i.e. pipes, metal 

structures, etc.). Avoid contact with metal objects when 

the device is in use.

3.  Do not pull or yank the power cord. Keep the power cord 

away from hot surfaces and sharp objects.

4.  Do not operate the machine where water is present (i.e. do 

not use in rain, near sprinklers, or in puddles).

5.  Do not touch electrical plugs with wet hands.
6.  Keep the extension cord away from the moving parts and 

the hot motor housing.

7.  Immediately replace and dispose of damaged wires  

and plugs.

8.  Do not open the switch box on the motor. If service is 

necessary, take the machine to a qualified electrician.

9.  Avoid unintentional starting – Do not carry  

plugged-in appliance with finger on the switch. Make sure 

the switch is off before plugging in the appliance.

10. Do not abuse the cord – Never carry the appliance by its 

cord or yank it to disconnect it from the receptacle. Keep 

the cord away from heat, oil, and sharp edges.

11. Do not force the appliance – It will do the job better and 

with less likelihood of a risk of injury if it is used at the rate 

for which it was designed.

12. Do not overreach – Keep proper footing and balance  

at all times.

13. Stay alert – Watch what you are doing. Use common  

sense. Do not operate the appliance when you are tired. 

14. Disconnect the appliance – Disconnect the appliance from 

the power supply when it is not in use, before servicing it, 

and when changing accessories. 

15. Store idle appliances indoors – When not in use, 

appliances should be stored indoors in a dry and high  

or locked-up place out of the reach of children.

16. Maintain appliance with care – Inspect extension cords 

periodically and immediately replace them if they are 

damaged. Only use an authorized service facility to  

repair the appliance. Keep the handles of the unit dry,  

clean, and free from oil and grease.

17. Check for damaged parts – Before using the  

appliance, carefully check the device to confirm that it

  

will operate properly and perform its intended function. 

Check for alignment of moving parts, binding of moving 

parts, breakage of parts, mounting, and any other 

condition that may affect its operation. Any part that is 

damaged should be properly repaired or replaced by an 

authorized service center unless indicated elsewhere in 

this manual.

Extreme temperature conditions may 

damage the tubes, the ash filter, or the vacuum canister. 

Completely empty the vacuum cleaner and the ash filter in a 

safe area after cleaning.
Observe the following warnings that appear on the motor 

housing of your ash vacuum:

•  Do not use the ash vacuum without pleated filter and wire 

filter basket in place.

Application

This motor-operated ash vacuum is intended for vacuuming 

cold ashes and fine dust material from fireplaces, wood/

 

coal-fired ovens, ashtrays, firepits and barbecues. This 

equipment is not suitable for vacuuming liquids, soot or 

cement dust or for vacuuming heating boilers or oil-burning 

ovens. Vacuuming of glowing embers or materials and dusts 

that are combustible, explosive or hazardous to one’s health is 

prohibited. The manufacturer will not be held responsible for 

injuries resulting from incorrect use of the device or from use 

that does not comply with the directions.
NOTE: This ash vacuum is intended for household use 

only.

Polarization Instructions

To reduce the risk of electric shock,  

this appliance has a polarized plug  

(one blade is wider than the other).  

This plug will fit in a polarized outlet 

 

only one way. If the plug does not fit 

fully in the outlet, reverse the plug. If 

it still does not fit, contact a qualified 

electrician to install the proper outlet.  

Do not change the plug in any way.
