Interface Grouping
Creating an interface group is used to map local interfaces to WAN interfaces. Typical application for this feature would include assigning IPTV
STBs to a WAN interface.
After selecting
Advanced Setup -> Interface Grouping
from the left navigation bar, click the
Add
button below the table. The screen shown on the
next page will appear.
To create a new interface group:
1. Enter a unique
Group Name
then select either step 2. (dynamic) or step 3. (static) below:
2. To automatically add LAN clients to a WAN Interface in the new group, add the DHCP vendor ID string. By configuring a DHCP vendor ID
string, any DHCP client request with the specified vendor ID (DHCP option 60) will be denied an IP address from the local DHCP server.
3. Select an interface from the
Available Interface
list and add it to the
Grouped Interface
list using the arrow buttons to create the required
mapping of the ports. Hold down the shift key to multi-select. NOTE: These clients may obtain public IP addresses.
4. If this interface is to share the WAN interface, click the
Shared WAN Interface
box. Not checking this will cause the WAN interface you
select to be removed from any other interface groups.
