ABOUT THE SWEDISH POWDER LANCE
The Powder Lance is an extinguishing
device that allows early fire fighting from
a safe place outside the building. It will fit
in a smaller vehicle and can be used by
anyone who is first in place.
Through a pre-drilled hole, extinguishing
media is transported into the room and
distributed for the best possible extin-
guishing effect. The Powder Lance is
available in two versions with different
distributions and length. The original is
optimized for horizontal attack, for ex-
ample through a window frame or
through the gable into the attic. The
wide-beam lance has good throwing
length sideways and the long lance a
length of 1300mm. Optimized for attack
through ceiling up into the attic.
The method is designed primarily for closed spaces. Powder is an
effective extinguishing agent in relation to its weight and works on
most types of fires. The attack can therefore be done quickly with a
portable equipment that is easy to use. It is not dependent on pumps
or hose systems and you can reach fires in remote and otherwise
inaccessible places. It is a quicker immediate measure than can be
given with a water system and without the risk of annoying overtake.
The attack can also be done without advanced protective equipment
used from a safe place outside the building. It makes the method sui-
table for anyone who is early on scene and opens up for new tactical
advantages that can give us a renewed advantage over the increa-
singly aggressive fire process that we encounter in today's structure
fires. A "knockdown effect" on the fire can give the extra time needed
to save the building and make the environment safer for smoke diving.
EXAMPLES OF ACTIONS
The room fire and the attic fire are the type fires for which the product
is tested. There are also type fires where the powder's ability to spread
has advantages over water. In storerooms, cellars and garages where
obstacles such as beams, shelves, cartons or vehicles that water has
difficulty getting past. As long as you have a flow, the powder has the
ability to press itself forward and bypass obstacles. It follows air currents
and can thus also reach fires in distant places in the building. If you
have two or more powder extinguishers prepared, there is a good
chance to extinguish an apartment fire from the same point of attack.
Although it could always be tactical to attack the fire from different
angles to get a better concentration of extinguishing agent on the fire.
The Powder Lance can also be used for fires in cars, caravans or boats.
The longer lance allows the user to keep greater distance from the fire.
The Powder Lance can be used in all kind of structures. Powder works
against most types of fires whether it is in fibrous material, liquid or gas.
It also works well against electric fires, but you should be aware that
powders are corrosive and difficult to clean in electrical equipment. In
most cases it is more important to stop the fire from spreading than to
save the equipment. Carbon dioxide extinguishers are otherwise a
gentler alternative. Note! You should never insert the lance into any
electrical equipment that can make it energized.

ATTACHING PULVERLANSEN ONTO THE EXTINGUIFIER
By attaching the Powder Lance and drilling machine to the extinguisher, you get everything you need with you and a vacant hand free to carry another
extinguisher. Under the heading "use" there is an image that shows what it might look like. The Powder Lance can be attached to the extinguisher by using
the supplied Velcro strap. Follow the directions to the picture series below: 1. Place the Velcro strap between the quick-coupling nipple and the extinguisher
as you mount of the nipple onto the extinguisher. Avoid the Velcro to end up between the O-ring and the bottle when mounting. 2. Install the hose
coupling. 3. Place the nozzle in the bottom sleeve on the bottle (if this sleeve is missing yo could put a strap around the bottle and over the nozzle so that you
can pull the lance without loosening the strap). 4. Pull the Velcro strap around the Powder Lance and under the hose. 5. Continue up around the hose. 6.
Attach to the thicker part of the Velcro strap behind the hand guard. When the Lance is to be released, the end of the strap is disconnected. The Powder
Lance can also be carried separately and connected just before use. With the quick couplings, there will be no noticeable loss of time and if desired it can
contribute to a simpler storing in the vehicle.
PROTECTIVE SLEEVE FOR NOZZLE
Snow and dirt can get stuck in the nozzle if not handlled carefully. To prevent jam before attack the mouthpiece should
be protected with the included silicone sleeve. Note! The sleeve is floured with talc inside for easier removing. Add
more talc when necessary. Try that the sleeve is easy to peel off. The top of the sleeve is left in front of the nozzle with a
rubber spacer that provides a grip surface that doesn’t tighten over the nozzle at the same time.
