Introduction
In order to assure the best performance and
the correct functionality of the gyro stabilizer
it is very important to perform the required
maintenance activities.
The gyro stabilizer is a complex machine, com-
posed of different subassemblies (mechanical/
electrical/ hydraulic) that operate in a poten-
tially corrosive environment (salty, wet and hot
spaces, like engine rooms).
For this reason, in order to avoid the effects of
corrosion as much as possible, it is necessary
to remove salt deposits on gyro unit surfaces
as frequently as possible, possibly wiping them
down with mild soap and water and rinsing.
This section of the instruction manual de-
scribes maintenance details and maintenance
intervals.

Before performing any maintenance proce-
dures within this section, read the following
safety information and review the SAFETY sec-
tion on page 3.

If the gyro unit needs to be
transported for repair, have a
helper assist you to remove it
from the boat with a hoist
The lifting eyes are engineered to lift the
weight of the gyro unit only Always use the
lifting eyes when lifting the gyro unit
Always use lifting equipment with sufficient
capacity to lift the gyro unit
