
The engine compartment cover can become
very hot. There is a risk of injury if you
remove the engine compartment cover to
work in the engine compartment.
Allow the engine to cool down before remov-
ing the engine compartment cover.
Combustion engines emit poisonous
exhaust gases such as carbon monoxide. if
the engine compartment cover has not been
fitted correctly when the engine is run-
ning, particularly whilst the vehicle is
moving, exhaust gases may enter the vehi-
cle interior. There is a danger of poison-
ing.
Always switch off the engine before remov-
ing the engine compartment cover. Make
sure that the engine compartment cover has
been fitted correctly.

To open: apply the parking brake.

Select a gear.

Switch the ignition off.

Remove the key from the ignition lock.

Open the upper and lower tailgate

For vehicles with the subwoofer: remove the
subwoofer (

Remove luggage compartment cover

Hold the carpet on the right and left sides
and fold upwards.

Vehicles with a boot cover: attach the hook
to upper bracket of boot cover

Unscrew screws

Remove engine compartment cover

To close: slide engine compartment
cover

forward as far as it will go.

Retighten screws

Vehicles with a boot cover: unhook the
hooks.

Put the carpet back into the vehicle.

Fold down the carpet and push it under the
side panelling.

For vehicles with a subwoofer: fit the sub-
woofer again (

Close the tailgate.
General notes
Depending on your driving style, the vehicle
consumes up to 0.5 litres of oil per 1000 km.
The oil consumption may be higher than this
when the vehicle is new or if you frequently
drive at high engine speeds.
When checking the oil level:
R
park the vehicle on a level surface
R
the engine should be switched off for
approximately 5 minutes if the engine is at
normal operating temperature
R
if the engine is not at normal operating
temperature, e.g. if the engine was only
started briefly, wait approximately
30 minutes before carrying out the meas-
urement
Checking the oil level using the oil dip-
stick
Certain components in the engine compart-
ment could be very hot, e.g. the engine, the
radiator and parts of the exhaust system.
There is a risk of injury when accessing the
engine compartment.
